Named for St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of the environment and nature whose love and respect for all living creatures was absolute. Proceeds from St. Francis East Ivanhoe will support VMCH’s mission-driven activities, helping deliver affordable homes and disability services for people experiencing disadvantage.

VMCH is experienced and deeply passionate about offering the highest-level retirement living options to discerning retirees, evidenced by the delivery of thriving premium inner Eastern Athelstan, St. Joseph’s Mews and, most recently, St. Clare.
VMCH operate fifteen retirement communities across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. It is this experience that informs our vision and focus for St. Francis.

Understanding the context of connection and community, environments are reshaped with a responsibility to the stories of placemaking. This sense of respect for the environment has guided the St. Francis architectural response, creating a retirement community that truly belongs in East Ivanhoe.

Oculus' designers are dedicated to addressing the conditions that contribute to the ongoing success of a place. At St. Francis, Oculus’s vision is to integrate the landscape architecture with the surrounding natural environment, in a way that is both harmonious and beautiful.

Since 1956, CDF have been providing support to Catholic primary and secondary schools, parishes and more recently healthcare and social service providers, such as VMCH.

At St. Francis, Stonebank is providing project management leadership, working closely with VMCH and the consultant team to coordinate stakeholders and guide the project through design and delivery.
